I have ridden
bicycles for as long as I can remember; dabbling in mountain biking, touring in
Britain and Europe, and completing several long distance cycling randonees,
including The Pyreneen Raid, The Alpine Raid, and L'Etape du Tour 2001.
I've never been particularly quick, so racing was out of the question, but I
have always loved the slow meander of touring, carrying my possessions in two
bags on the back of my bike.
The idea of a mammoth
trip around the world has always been there as a distant ambition, and at 39, a
number of circumstances have now combined to enable me to turn the ambition into
reality.
When I am not
riding my bike, or planning cycling challenges, you will find me policing
Liverpool City Centre, as a Chief Inspector in Merseyside Police.
